Not this year though. Because the planning and execution of birthday celebrations has been taken out of my wishy-washy incompetent hands. This is, in part, because my son-in-law, Ollie, celebrates his own Scorpio birthday exactly a week before I celebrate mine, and now that he and Heather are living less than 20 miles away, this means ‘double birthday celebrations’ are now a ‘thing.’ We are all birthdays a-go-go!
I’ve had a Message of Mysterious Vibes from Heather. ‘Do not fret, dear mother. Birthday celebrations are in hand. There is nothing for you to do except turn up.’
Thus, Lord and Lady Malarkey are invited to ‘a day out’ (unspecified but apparently nothing traumatic) on Sunday and ‘a birthday dinner’ on my actual birthday which is next Wednesday. Gosh, what a treat!
My social life seems to have taken off this week after four weeks of promising myself to stay in the background of life whilst I study and make business plans. (Business plans, by the way, are taking off - I’ve received some good feedback and ideas from various lovely folk, and I have picked up two clients!) And now those four weeks are over, I am out and about again. Today, I met up with a friend and we visited our local antiques emporium, stopping for a spot of lunch and a good natter whilst we were there. Tomorrow I am meeting another friend for lunch and a natter. On Saturday I am attending the AGM for the Hare Preservation Trust, to which I belong, because I want to see if and how I am able to play a bigger part in this charity’s work. And Sunday is the Birthday Surprise Mystery Day Out.
After a summer of feeling that my life was being somewhat scuppered by circumstances most horrid, Scorpio Season is kicking some upwards energy back into it. You’ve got to head downwards on the Wheel of Fortune before you rise up. That’s just the way of life.
